The existing gravel driveway base is prepared, then a new asphalt driveway surface is installed on top of it.

Surface preparation:

Vegetation is cut out and removed, and a herbicide is applied to inhibit regrowth
The existing gravel base is dressed up with additional base material if needed
The gravel base is spread out, graded, and shaped for proper drainage
The gravel is compacted with a vibrating roller to form a solid foundation

Asphalt installation:

The prepared gravel base is paved with a new surface of hot mix asphalt
The asphalt is tightly compacted using steel drum vibrating rollers
Vertical asphalt edges are hand compacted to maximize durability
