That weather, plus normal wear and tear can play havoc on asphalt driveways and parking areas.

If you have an asphalt surface that is cracking, has low spots that creates puddles after every rain, or has crumbling edges, it needs the attention of an experienced asphalt paving contractor to restore it back to like new condition.

Asphalt Paving Services for Charlotte Property Owners

At Standard Paving we are a full-service Asphalt Paving contractor staffed and equipped to take on all sizes of projects. With new construction or home rehabs, we work well with other trades and are exceptionally flexible in our scheduling. We routinely repair, repave, and replace asphalt driveways and parking lots and we have earned a reputation for on-time on-budget performance. We are also surprisingly affordable for the professional quality we provide.

Here is a quick rundown of our services:

  • Sealcoating. If your driveway has multiple, shallow cracks (less than ¼” deep) we can bring it back to like new condition and stop the deterioration by applying a high quality sealant. The sealant protects the asphalt from exposure to UV rays, automotive fluids, deicer chemicals, and other irritants extending the life of your drive. Sealcoating is a maintenance function and should be done once every three years or so to get maximum service life and minimize the need for resurfacing or repaving in the future..
  • Resurfacing. If you have cracks that are deeper than ¼” but there is no structural failure or subbase issues, we can restore your asphalt by removing the top layer and replacing it with new asphalt. A commercial grade roller compacts the new asphalt to ensure a solid bond and to give the surface a like new appearance.
  • Repaving. If you have deep cracks, potholes, crumbling edges, or low spots that collect water after a rain, then resurfacing may be your best solution. Our crew will identify structurally failed asphalt, cut it out and dispose of it, and then prep the surface for a new installation of hot-mix asphalt. The asphalt is put down using a self-propelled, self-levelling paver guided by an experienced operator. Edges are trimmed and hand compacted. A vibrating roller compacts the new surface resulting in a driveway that looks brand new.
  • Replacing. The service life of a professionally installed and maintained asphalt surface is 20 to 30 years or more. If a driveway or other asphalt surface has excessive cracking, potholes, crumbling, or is graying out, it has most likely hit the end of its service life. The most common reasons for asphalt to fail early are improper subbase preparation, inferior quality asphalt, drainage issues, and a lack of maintenance. When an asphalt surface needs to be removed and replaced, we send our excavation crew to the site to tear up the old asphalt, grade the subbase, identify and resolve any drainage issues, and haul all the debris away. Our paving crew then moves in, compacts the subbase, and then performs the same process as a repaving project. You’re good to go for two to three decades.

When you are ready to move forward on your asphalt project, we will arrange for one of our experienced estimators to visit the site, inspect it, answer your questions, and then prepare a detailed estimate. Our estimates are guaranteed. There are no hidden charges.
